Ghostbusters Guild Rules

Guild Master    -           Phebee

Joint Leader     -           Supermaz

General

  • Please be polite and respectful to all guild members at all times. We understand that sometimes people do have a difference of opinion so if you do have any issues with another member, please try and resolve these through private messages and not via guild chat.

If the matter cannot be resolved in this way please speak to Phebee, Supermaz or any Officer online.

  • Please be polite and respectful while in a group with players outside of the guild. We have worked extremely hard to build up the Ghostbusters Guild and its reputation and will not allow its name to be tarnished by immature players. We will not tolerate players who are rude, disrespectful of other players or those that ‘ninja’ items/loot or those that ‘scam’ other players. If we receive any complaints from players outside of the guild regarding our members, an officer will speak to the member involved before any action is taken. We operate a ‘one warning and you’re out system’ hence if this behaviour persists or we receive continuous complaints regarding any member, Ghostbusters Officers have the right to remove any such player from the guild without any prior notice.

  • We promote Ghostbusters as being a ‘friendly & helpful guild’. Please do your best to uphold this philosophy by saying Hello/Goodbye when you log on/off (this also helps to break the ice with newer/shyer members) and by offering to help other members when required. This help can be in the form of helping with groups for quests/instances, offering materials/items when needed and offering advice. Please note that Officers will offer help whenever they can but priority will be given to those members who are seen to be actively helping other members. We do not expect you to drop everything you are doing instantly to rush to the aid of someone, if you are free and able to help please strive to do so. If you are busy, in the middle of something etc please let the member who requires help know that you are unable to do so.  It’s not a very nice feeling when you ask for help on guild chat and everyone ignores you so please answer people even if it is only to say no.
  • As we do have many younger members within the guild, obscene language of any sort will not be tolerated on guild chat before 9pm (this includes any use of language of a sexual/racial content). After this time please keep your language within moderation.

  • The guild does not tolerate ‘begging’ or the use of any ‘bots’ or any other software deemed ‘illegal’ by Blizzard. Anyone caught ‘begging’ or ‘botting’ will be given one warning and one warning only. If this behaviour persists you will be removed from the guild with no further notice – any persisting bots will be reported to Blizzard.
  • As a rule, we generally do not lend gold to guild members as this has in the past led to disputes and arguments. Members can lend gold to each other but you do so at your own discretion and risk. Officers will be unable to intervene if someone who has borrowed gold is then unable to pay it back. Please do not beg for gold on guild chat as this will not be tolerated – anyone found doing so will be given one warning to cease this behaviour. If the begging persists Guild Officers have the right to remove any such player without any further notice.

  • Ghostbusters is an active guild and as such we wish to promote active players. Please note that anyone offline for over 2 months (without prior notification) will be removed from the guild. If you cannot avoid being offline for any prolonged period (e.g. holidays, lack of credit, moving home, internet problems, home/work/school commitments etc) please notify Phebee, Supermaz or any Officer so that we are aware that you may be offline for some time.
  • We do have a Teamspeak server (details of which can be found on guild info). Please note that Teamspeak is available ONLY for members aged 16 years and over. Please show members the same respect on Teamspeak that is expected on Guild Chat. We encourage all members that do not have Teamspeak software downloaded to do so as this proves a great help when it comes to instances and raids.

  • For those who have lower level alts within the guild, or any new lower level members please note that we do offer ‘boosts’ through instances on THURSDAYS ONLY. Any member needing a boost though a lower level instance please speak to any Officer online who will arrange this for you. Please note we will not boost those who have not previously tried to obtain their own group for that instance, Officers and level 70’s will not boost you through an instance simply because you cannot be bothered to do it properly. If you have a high level main in the guild and wish your alt character to be boosted, please be aware that priority will be given to those players who have helped/boosted other members.

Recruitment & New Members

We are currently recruiting players who are level 40 and above as we wish to try and aim Ghostbusters towards end game instances and raids. At times we may lower this entry level to allow newer, ‘fresh faced’ players into the guild (as we all remember what it is like to be a ‘newbie’ and how helpful a good guild can be when you begin playing). If at such a time the entry level is lowered – all new members will be given 2 months to try and reach level 40 if they wish to remain in the guild. We understand that for all players this is not possible due to other commitments and hence this 2 month rule can be overlooked (with good reason) at Phebee’s or an Officer’s discretion.

Please note this 40+ rule does not apply to those who have a main character or parent in the guild. Close family members (younger sisters/brothers etc) will also be exempt from this rule providing they have a relative who has a main character within the guild who is willing to vouch for them.

Should you receive any whispers from people wishing to join the guild, please ask them to speak to Phebee, Supermaz or one of the Officers and give them the name of any Officer online at the time. Many Officers do have alts, so if you are unsure please ask on guild chat who is able to invite new members.

Upon joining the guild, all new players will remain on ‘trial’ for a period of one month. This is to enable enough time for Officers to group with you and get to know you, and also allows sufficient time for you to determine if you are happy to become a member and if the Ghostbusters Guild feels like the right guild for you. Promotions to member can occur any time within this month period at Phebee’s or an Officer’s discretion. Quicker promotions will be given to those who are seen to be an active member of the guild. This may involve offering help to other members when required (either by grouping or quests/instances or offering materials/items/advice) and being seen to be an active ‘team player’. Please note that within the month trial period, Officers have the right to remove trial members from the guild if they feel the player does not meet the requirements of the guild.

Promotions

The Guild Ranks Tier is as follows:

Trial (1 month period)
Member
Veteran
Officers & Class Leaders

(We also have a rank of ‘Potions & Storage’ for those members who have a character ‘bank’ within the guild).

Promotions will be given to those people who have proven themselves to be an active member of the guild and team player. A guild is about forming bonds and friendship, and having help and advice on hand when required. In order to earn a promotion you must be seen to be:

  • Actively helping other members when required. This can be in the form of offering to group for quests/instances, donating materials/unwanted items etc and offering advice to those who require it.
  • Trustworthy, friendly, responsible and loyal.
  • An active player – online at least once a week.
  • Participating in Guild Chat.

Officer Rules

Anyone wishing to become a Guild Officer should be aware of the following guidelines.

As an Officer of Ghostbusters you are required to set an example for all members. Please be polite and respectful to all members at all times and if possible offer help when required. We have noticed at times that people have asked for help on guild chat only to be met by silence. This is not the helpful guild image we wish to promote hence please help others whenever possible. If you are busy or unable to do so at the time please say so on guild chat and perhaps ask if they still require help once you have finished your current activity. It is difficult for us to encourage members to help each other when Officers are not seen to be ‘pulling their weight’. All Officers must be seen to be actively helping other members as and when required.

As part of our Thursday Boosts you may be asked on occasion to run members through lower level instances such as Deadmines/Scarlet Monastery, Shadowfang Keep etc.

As an Officer, the guild is in your hands whenever Phebee or Supermaz are not online. At these times it is your responsibility to try and resolve any issues between members and to ensure the smooth running of the guild. Officers are able both to invite new members and to warn/remove current members for any rule breakage or inappropriate behaviour.

When recruiting new members – please add their date of joining the guild in officer notes so that we are aware of when their month trial period has ended. Upon joining, please ask new members what their character’s professions are and update this information in guild notes.

All Officers are required to attend Officers Meeting’s which take place on the first Saturday of every month at 8pm (GMT) unless otherwise stated. If you are unable to attend for any reason please notify Phebee or Supermaz prior to the day of the meeting. Please be aware that important decisions and changes are mad during these meetings hence if you wish to have your say on these matters please try and attend.

Officers are required to set a good example for all members of the guild hence we require our Guild Officers to be friendly, trustworthy, responsible and at times diplomatic. Please uphold the guild rules at all times and ensure that other members strive to do so.

Class Leaders

As well as following the Officer Guidelines (as set out above), all class leaders will be responsible for helping members of their class  with class quests (including pally and lock epic mount quests) and offering advice with regards to Talent Tree Points and weapons/kits.

Class Leaders are also required to attend Officers Meetings as important decisions and changes may be made which affect your class.

Anyone wishing to apply for the position of Class Leader for any of the available Classes please send an in game mail to Phebee stating:

  1. Your reasons for wanting to become a Class Leader
  2. Why you feel you are suitable for this role.
  3. If you are promoted to Class Leader, how do you feel this will benefit the guild?

Please note due to the level of responsibility, maturity, diplomacy and trust that is required from Class Leaders, we will only consider applicants aged 18 years and over for these roles. Please also note that you must be level 70 to become a Class Leader.

Should you have any issues or suggestions regarding the Ghostbusters Guild or any of the Guild Rules, please speak to Phebee or Supermaz.
